Check domain registration details - registrar, dates, nameservers, and status. Owner names are often redacted for privacy, but registrar, dates and nameservers are normally shown.
This uses RDAP (Registration Data Access Protocol), the modern, structured, HTTPS-based successor to the
old WHOIS protocol - now the standard that ICANN requires registries and registrars to support. We query
the public rdap.org bootstrap service, which redirects to whichever registry is actually
authoritative for the domain's TLD.
Note that registrant contact details (name, email, phone) are redacted by most registries by default for privacy - organization name and registrar details are still shown where public.
